Continental Club of Ikire Donates Medical Equipments to Ikire Mercy Hospital

In a commendable display of community service, the Continental Club of Ikire (CCI) demonstrated its commitment to the well-being of the Ikire community by donating essential medical equipment to Ikire Mercy Hospital in Laakosin Area, Ikire, Osun State.

The donation, which took place on Tuesday, December 26, included a hospital bed, oxygen tank, automatic blood pressure monitors, digital thermometers, automatic upper arm blood pressure monitors, and a nebulizer machine. The initiative was spearheaded by the club’s President, Sulaiman ‘Bimbim’ Ajibola, who emphasized that the contribution was a collective effort from club members who willingly contributed from their own pockets, without relying on government support or international aid.

“We are here today because this club had decided and chosen to donate these tokens as part of our efforts and contribution to Ikire. This is our collective effort as members of the club, on equal parlance. We contributed from our own purses without any support from any government or any international aids. Ikire belongs to all of us,” expressed President Sulaiman ‘Bimbim’ Ajibola.

Dr. Olayinka Edu, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ikire Mercy Hospital, expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital’s management. “I thank everybody, for even thinking about people who won’t be able to thank all of you in person. Each time patients come here and benefit from these; their prayers are with you. As well as God’s protection and blessings.”

The donations were lauded as an exemplary demonstration of leadership and community responsibility. Dr. Edu further remarked, “These donations speak for the voiceless and the downtrodden people of the community. This is to show leadership at its raw and best. These are the next generation of leaders that we are looking at here. May God continue to protect them and bless them and their families.”

The club’s leadership includes Sulaiman ‘Bimbim’ Ajibola (President), Lekan Azeez (Vice-President), Rasaq Ademuyiwa (Secretary), Oyeyemi Tunji (Treasurer), Shola Ajibola (Public Relations Officer, PRO), Ogundele Kayode Kunle (Chief Whip), and Adisa Boye Micheal (Financial Secretary).

Other dedicated members contributing to the success of the initiative include Ogunkoya Oluwole Azeez, Ademola Abduljeleel, Ibrahim Olabisi, Oyeleke Idris Asekunlowo, Emanuel Adebayo, Olawale Olatunbunsun, Adeyemi Fisayo, Adeshina Uthman Abiodun, and Adebowale Fesomade.

The Continental Club of Ikire’s impactful donation stands as a testament to the positive change that community-driven initiatives can bring to the lives of the people they serve.
