The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, located at the FESTAC Mega Axis Headquarters in Lagos State, has embarked on a charitable endeavor by providing cash gifts, food items, and grants to widows and vulnerable families. This initiative aims to bring joy to those facing hardship amidst the challenging economic conditions in the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the church highlighted its commitment to supporting widows, the needy, indigent students, and the less privileged in the community. Specifically, the church awarded scholarships to 11 indigent secondary school students and distributed food items to approximately 1,000 members and non-members.
Furthermore, the church organized a four-day ICT and media workshop, catering to ICT personnel, youths, teenagers, and other interested members across the Festac Mega Axis. The workshop covered various topics such as streaming church programs, photography and editing for social media, live coverage of church services, and digital evangelism.
The Mega Regional Overseer of MFM FESTAC Mega Axis, Pastor Irabor Enojiasun, emphasized that these efforts align with the vision of the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, to impact lives beyond religious denominations and to bring souls to Christ.
During the outreach, over 30 widows received cash gifts of N15,000 each, while more than 358 individuals received food items such as rice and Indomie. Additionally, 765 individuals were served packed cooked meals, water, and drinks.
Amidst protests in various states over the high cost of living and soaring food prices, the government at both the state and federal levels has been implementing palliative measures to alleviate the effects of economic hardship, exacerbated by the removal of fuel subsidies.
The depreciation of the naira against the dollar has further intensified the financial struggles faced by many Nigerians, leading to continuous price increases of goods and services.
