Four killed, 40 injured in Ogun crashes during Easter – Official

The Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has disclosed that four individuals lost their lives, while 40 others sustained injuries in 11 road accidents during the Easter celebrations in the state. Mr. Anthony Uga, the State Sector Commander of the corps, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Ota, following a four-day special patrol organized for the Easter festivities.

Uga attributed the reduction in accidents to the extensive deployment of personnel, both Regular and Special Marshals, during the Easter period. He emphasized that the special patrol, which ran from March 29 to April 2, effectively curbed the behavior of drivers who frequently disregard traffic rules, a common cause of accidents.

The sector commander urged motorists to maintain strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations not only during holidays but consistently. He reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to collaborating with other agencies to ensure the safety of the nation’s highways for all road users.
