Makinde approves Olakulehin’s appointment as new Olubadan

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The approval is in accordance with the state’s extant laws and regulations regarding the ascension to royal thrones.

According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Honourable Olusegun Olayiwola, the governor exercised his powers conferred on him by Section 19 (Cap 28) Law of Oyo State 2000 as amended, as evident from a memo signed on June 14, 2024.

The statement further reveals that the governor congratulated the new Olubadan, wishing him a successful tenure that would bring about greater development in Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.

The state government will soon announce the date for the coronation and presentation of staff of office to Olakulehin as Olubadan.
