Nigerian govt to send first civilian to space

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a groundbreaking plan to send its first citizen into space, marking a significant milestone in the country’s 25-year history of space exploration.

This historic endeavor was revealed by Dr. Mathew Adepoju, Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), during a press conference held in Abuja.

As part of this ambitious project, Nigeria has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA).

This collaboration signifies a major achievement for the nation, placing Nigeria among the ranks of countries actively engaged in human spaceflight.

According to Dr. Adepoju, this initiative will not only propel Nigeria’s scientific research and technological advancement but also inspire a new generation of Nigerian youth to pursue careers in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The project is expected to ignite a passion for space exploration and drive technological progress in the country.

More details about the initiative will be made available at a later date.
