Police arrest man for defiling 14-year-old girl in Ogun

On Friday, the Ogun State Police Command announced the arrest of Gadafi Bala, a 24-year-old man, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area. 

SP Omolola Odutola, the state Police Public Relations Officer, revealed this in a statement, stating that Bala committed the crime on Thursday. 

According to Odutola, the incident was reported by Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara, Ogijo, detailing the rape of a 14-year-old female JSS1 student of Aderegun Community High School on March 28, 2024.

Upon receiving the report, the Ogijo Divisional Police Officer visited the victim, who underwent a medical examination confirming the assault.

Subsequently, Gadafi was arrested, and preliminary investigations have commenced. 

The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further discreet investigation.
