AFC Southwest Outreach Culminates in Grand Cultural Celebration, Induction

The National Vice President of the Association of Female Comrades (AFC), Lady Comrade Sofiyah Taiwo Lateef — popularly known as Empress — successfully concluded her community care initiative outreach on 17th July 2025. The grand finale, held in Ibadan, Oyo State, was graced by dignitaries from several states within the South-West geopolitical zone and beyond.

The initiative, which covered Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Lagos, and Ekiti States, focused on the distribution of sanitary pads to young girls, provision of essential school supplies, and other empowerment materials for students most especially girls and women. The AFC, under Soffiyah’s leadership, remains steadfast in its commitment to community service and youth empowerment.

In her remarks, Lady Comrade SOFIYAH expressed profound gratitude to all who attended the grand finale — including dignitaries, partner associations, and supporters. She charged the newly inducted representatives of the Association to uphold the values of integrity, service, and patriotism, urging them to be exemplary ambassadors of the Association and the nation at large.

SOFIYAH also appreciated the National President for entrusting her once again with the role of South-West Coordinator, pledging to exceed previous achievements and intensify her service to the Association and its causes.

Speaking officially on behalf of the National Vice President’s Office, she stated:

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all South-West Coordinators, distinguished guests, royal fathers, our esteemed guest speaker, and the Female Comrades across the South-West who honoured us with their presence at the Cultural Day and Induction of the newly Executives of the Oyo State Chapter. Your presence underscored the unity, solidarity, and unwavering commitment that define the Association of Female Comrades.

Special commendation goes to the State Coordinators from Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo States for their remarkable dedication in travelling distances to attend this event. Your unwavering support continues to inspire us all.

We heartily congratulates the newly inducted executives of the Oyo State Chapter and extend our gratitude to the Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the Oyo State Governor for honouring the occasion. We pray for divine guidance and success as the new leaders take on their roles. We are confident they will excel and contribute meaningfully to the Association’s vision.

Our sincere appreciation equally goes to the National President for her resolute leadership and steadfast commitment to empowering women and girls. Her vision has been pivotal in shaping the trajectory of our Association. We also recognise and thank our distinguished guests, royal fathers, and all dignitaries whose presence added value and prestige to the programme.

This event marked the conclusion of the Southwest Community Care Initiative 1.0, a bold testament to our collective resolve to uplift the underserved. We remain grateful to our volunteers, donors, and partners whose support made this impactful initiative possible.”

In closing, the National Vice President reaffirmed the Association’s unwavering commitment to social impact and community development.
