The final burial rites of the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, will be held on Monday evening.
Oba Adetona joined his ancestors at the age of 91 on Sunday.

A statement by the Ogun state government said his final burial rites will take place at Ogbagba Court, Igbeba, Ijebu-ode, at exactly 4 pm.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi urged residents of the State to remember the families of the revered monarch in their prayers.

“Ogun State Government has announced the burial rites for the late Awujale of Ijebu land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. The burial will take place today, (14/07/2025) at Ogbagba Court, Igbeba, Ijebu-ode, Ogun State, at exactly 4 pm,” the statement reads.
