The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has lost a senior member of his traditional council, High Chief Adetoye Olatunde Odewole, the Jaaran of Ife.

The news of his passing was disclosed via the official Facebook page associated with the ancient city of Ile-Ife, which stated: “High Chief Jaaran of Ifẹ joins his ancestors.”

As of the time of filing this report, no formal statement has been issued by the palace of the Ooni regarding the demise of the respected chief.

High Chief Odewole, as the Jaaran of Ife, held one of the most revered titles in the Ife traditional hierarchy, known for his advisory role to the monarch and his influence within the cultural heritage of Yorubaland.
