APC National Youth Wing to Empower 5,000 Youths with Employability Skills

The APC National Youth Wing is set to empower over 5,000 young individuals with essential workplace readiness and employability skills through its ‘Workplace Readiness and Employability Skills Training Program.’

The program, themed “I AM EMPLOYABLE,” will take place from June 4th to June 7th, 2024, in Abuja.

According to Dr. Dayo Israel, the APC National Youth Leader and program convener, “Our primary goal with this program is to improve the economic capacity of young Nigerians, especially young progressives, by equipping them with the necessary core skills to secure a job, retain employment, and navigate the labor market effectively – preparing young people for the workplace.”

Israel further stated, “This initiative is a crucial step in our broader strategy to foster youth development and economic growth in Nigeria.”

The event will feature notable speakers, including E.G Jibola Ponnle, former CIPM CEO and immediate past Lagos Commissioner for Training; Niyi Adesanya, CEO of FifthGear Plus and Management Consultant; and Morayo Afolabi-Brown, a respected media personality.

These distinguished professionals will be joined by an impressive lineup of trainers and facilitators such as Tosin Adesina, Yeye-Mides Fabanwo, Njuara Njama, Dare Akinlaja, Jide Jinadu, Funke Oluwatimilehin, Elizabeth Ajala, Akin Akinpelu, Soji Adeniyi, Sam Obafemi, Oluseye Taiwo Adepoju, Lesley George, Abiola Champ, Jeph Oluwagbemiga, Stephen Akintayo, and Bode Shogo.

The APC National Youth Wing’s Workplace Readiness and Employability Skills Training Program (WREST) is designed to enhance employment skills and office management capabilities for young Nigerians aged 16 and above, improving their ability to secure a job, retain employment, and adapt flexibly in the labor market.
