Over 32,000 Applicants Compete for 1000 Teaching Roles in Ondo State

In a remarkable display of interest, more than 32,000 individuals have applied for approximately 1000 teaching positions available at the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM). Goodluck Akinyomi, the Head of the Press and Public Relations Unit at TESCOM, announced this surge in applications and revealed that the commission will administer an online examination to facilitate the selection process.

Acknowledging the significant number of applicants, Akinyomi stressed the necessity of conducting an online examination to fairly assess candidates vying for teaching positions in public secondary schools across the state. The online recruitment test, scheduled to take place over a ten-minute period, will commence on Thursday and conclude by Friday morning. Akinyomi also highlighted the commission’s commitment to inclusivity by ensuring that physically challenged applicants are able to participate in the examination.

While the majority of applicants will undergo the examination concurrently, visually impaired candidates will have the opportunity to take the test at a later date to accommodate their needs. Emphasizing the commission’s dedication to merit-based recruitment, Mrs. Morayo Bayo-Philip, the Administrative Secretary, reiterated that appointments will be based solely on qualifications and integrity, with no room for preferential treatment.

Bayo-Philip emphasized the commission’s unwavering commitment to maintaining high academic standards in Ondo State’s secondary education system, prioritizing the delivery of quality education to the state’s children. Applicants are expected to achieve a minimum score of seventy percent in the examination to be considered for the teaching positions.

The Administrative Secretary urged applicants to log in to the portal using their registered credentials for the online examination, assuring them of a swift and efficient process that will take only ten minutes.
