Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, famously known as Evans, the convicted billionaire kidnapper facing charges of attempted murder, has sought a settlement at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja.
Accompanied by his co-defendant Joseph Emeka, who faces charges of murder and attempted kidnapping, Evans has opted for a plea bargain.
During the court session on Thursday, state prosecution counsel Mr. Yusuf Sule informed Justice Adenike Coker about the plea bargain option as the case was called for re-arraignment.
Evans and Emeka are to be re-arraigned on an amended five-count charge, including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping and murder.
While the case was listed for re-arraignment, Sule disclosed that the defendants had applied for a plea bargain. He mentioned that the plea bargain terms were currently under review by the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN).
