Gunmen kill Taraba monarch

Unknown gunmen fatally shot Alhaji Abdulmutallib Sansani, a third-class Chief of Sansani Chiefdom, in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State on Thursday night. According to a source in the town who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, the incident occurred around 10:25 PM.

The source revealed that the gunmen tracked the chief to one of his residences located outside the palace premises and carried out the attack. Alhaji Abdulmutallib Sansani had left the palace around 7 PM after attending prayers, only to be killed a few hours later.

It is suspected that the assailants had been monitoring the chief’s movements before carrying out the attack. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and residents are deeply saddened by the loss of their traditional leader.

Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting are expected to emerge as investigations progress.
