The retrieval of the remains of an adult male, suspected to be one of the victims from the accident on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State, has been confirmed.
After a commercial bus crashed on the bridge, two passengers reportedly fell into the lagoon, while others sustained injuries.
According to Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, the driver, who was speeding, lost control and hit the bridge rails, causing the passengers to be thrown into the waterThe Marine Police immediately launched a search operation and recovered the body of the adult male near the Ebute-Ero area of the lagoon.
Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, affirmed the joint recovery effort with the Lagos State Waterways Authority.
