A tragic accident unfolded on Wednesday along the Ilesa/Ibodi Expressway in Osun State, claiming the life of a female staff member from the University of Ilesa. The incident occurred when a truck transporting a container filled with cashew nuts lost control, causing the container to topple onto the victim’s car. Despite the efforts of bystanders to rescue her, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The accident generated panic among witnesses as they rushed to aid the victim, whose car was trapped beneath the fallen container. The immediate aftermath of the incident saw a significant traffic jam on the usually bustling expressway, as vehicles involved in the crash obstructed part of the roadway.
According to sources within the university, the victim had concluded her duties on campus for the day and was on her way home when the tragic collision occurred.
