Encourage teachers to embrace technology, firm urges govt

Success Ojo, the Chief Executive Officer of Gotocourse Platform and G-Mind AI, has urged the Federal Government and other stakeholders to promote the integration of technology in the education sector to enhance the learning system.

Speaking at a press conference in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Ojo emphasized that education has transcended the traditional classroom setting, where interactions between teachers and students were limited to face-to-face interactions. She underscored the need for stakeholders, particularly in the private sector, to actively support this initiative.

Ojo stated, “Effective education has evolved beyond the confines of physical classrooms and traditional teaching methods. With the advent of technology, education has undergone significant transformations, transitioning from chalkboards to smart boards, and from textbooks to e-books. Technology has revolutionized teaching and learning, offering dynamic tools and resources that redefine the educational experience.”

She appealed to the Federal Government, state governors, and all education stakeholders to recognize the pivotal role of technology in shaping the future of education in Nigeria. Highlighting the transformative potential of technology, she emphasized its ability to democratize access to quality education, regardless of geographical location, socio-economic status, or learning abilities.

Ojo elaborated on the features of G-Mind, emphasizing its capacity to facilitate text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionalities. She explained that this technology enables teachers to convert oral lessons into written text and vice versa, catering to diverse learning styles. Additionally, G-Mind can convert text into slides, streamlining the process of lesson preparation and allowing educators to focus more on enhancing the learning experience.

In conclusion, Ojo stressed the importance of embracing technology as both an enabler and an equalizer in education, envisioning a future where technology facilitates inclusive and accessible learning for all.
