Mbah appoints ENSIEC boss, reshuffles statutory bodies

The appointment of Prof Christian Ngwu as the Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission has been sanctioned by Dr. Peter Mbah, the Governor of Enugu State. This announcement was conveyed through a public service announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia.

Additionally, Governor Mbah has overseen the reconstitution of various statutory and other bodies within the state, including the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, Enugu State Hospital Management Board, and Enugu State Agency for Universal Health Coverage.

According to the statement released on Friday, the appointments for these bodies are as follows:

Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council:

  • Chairman: His Royal Highness, Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu
  • First Deputy Chairman: His Royal Highness, Igwe Julius Nnaji
  • Second Deputy Chairman: His Royal Highness, Igwe G. N. Madu
  • Third Deputy Chairman: His Royal Highness, Igwe Hebert Ukuta
  • Grand Patron: His Royal Highness, Igwe Fidelis Nwatu
  • First Grand Patron: His Royal Highness, Igwe Abel Nwobodo
  • Second Grand Patron: His Royal Highness, Igwe Augustine Uzobuenyi Otiji
  • Third Grand Patron: His Royal Highness, Igwe H. C. Eze

Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC):

  • Chairman: Professor Christian C. Ngwu
  • Members: Solomon Udeh (Re-appointed), Chinenyenwa A. Ogbu (Re-appointed), George Obiora Ani (Re-appointed), Arthur Ifeanyi Ede, Paully Eze, Emmanuel Ogbodo, Emeka Ukwuaba
  • Secretary: Barr. Ifesinachi Umeobika

The statement emphasized that these appointments are subject to confirmation by the Enugu State House of Assembly and take immediate effect.
