The lawmaker representing Ayedire-Iwo-Ola Oluwa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Lukman Kayode Mudashiru has described noted the explosion that occured in Ibadan on Tuesday night indicates a time to focus on Internal Security.
He also noted that this is also an indication that it is time to strengthen that Southwest Security Network, codenamed Amotekun.
The lawmaker, who is also the Vice Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Human Rights stated this on the sideline of the Telu Cup final match on Friday at Oluwo Stadium in Iwo, Osun state.
He thereafter called for thorough investigation into the matter while calling state Governors to focus on building a formidable internal security architecture within their state.
“The incident in Ibadan is sad and very unfortunate and I want to commiserate with everyone who had lost their loved ones or properties.
“But it is also an indication that it is time we begin to focus on internal security and for us in the southwest, its time to strengthen our own security outfit, named Amotekun.
“We must also ensure that thorough investigation is carried out to bring to book people who have ran foul of the existing laws in the nation thereby putting the lives of million at risk”, the Lawmaker noted.
Mudashiru then commended security agencies and rescue workers who had swung into action since the incident occured.
