Lebanon prime minister demands more pressure on Israel

Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, has called for “pressure on Israel” to enforce a ceasefire, as a new Israeli strike hit the southern suburbs of the capital on Sunday.

Mikati expressed support for US and French efforts to secure a truce, as the official National News Agency reported a strike south of Beirut. An AFP journalist heard a massive explosion and saw columns of smoke rising from the site of the strike.
