Kaduna Police nabbed car thef suspect

The Kaduna State Police Command announced on Friday the arrest of Mubarak Kabiru, an international car theft suspect from Kano State, along Alkali Road in Kaduna.

Mansir Hassan, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, explained that the arrest was made possible through a tip-off from a Good Samaritan. The individual reported that he was asked to assist in collecting a Lexus LX470 Jeep from a mechanic but suspected the vehicle was stolen and promptly informed the police.

Hassan provided details of the incident: “On May 27, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m., the police received a tip-off from a Good Samaritan. An individual reported that he was requested to assist in collecting a Lexus LX470 Jeep from a mechanic. Suspecting the vehicle was stolen, he promptly reported it to the police.

“Following the report, the vehicle was recovered and brought to S/Gari police station. A search revealed the vehicle’s particulars bearing the owner’s name and contact number. When contacted, the owner recounted that the car was snatched from him at gunpoint by five armed men at his residence in Utako, Abuja.”

The PRO stated that officers tracked down and arrested the suspect along Alkali Road in Kano State.
