APC to hold National Convention, March 2026

Barely 48 hours after its National Executive Committee meeting held on Friday, the All Progressives Congress has released a detailed timetable of activities that will culminate in the conduct of its National Convention next year.

The activities include nationwide ward, local government, state and zonal congresses ahead of the national convention scheduled to hold in March.

The notice of activities, signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and shared on his X handle, disclosed that the outlined schedule became imperative pursuant to the provisions of Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution and is aimed at electing party officials at all levels.

The process has already commenced with membership e-registration, which began on December 1 and will run until January 30, 2026.

Ward and local government congresses will be conducted on February 18 and 20, 2026, respectively, while state congresses to elect leadership at state chapters will hold on March 7, 2026.

For leadership at the zonal levels, the congresses will be conducted simultaneously across the six geopolitical zones on March 21, 2026, to be followed by a three-day national convention from March 25 to 28, 2026.

Designated locations for the zonal congresses are Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers/Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central.
