Wike: I Won’t Run Against Tinubu in 2027

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he has no intention of contesting against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Wike dismissed rumours linking his recent comments on zoning in the PDP to a presidential ambition. “Why would I contest against someone I’m working with?” he asked, reaffirming his support for the Tinubu administration and describing the president as the only strong contender at the moment.
On the political crisis in Rivers State, Wike said he has no personal issues with suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whom he described as his “political son.” According to him, the real problem lies with those “misleading the governor for their own interests.”
