Residents Call For Economic Reforms In 2025 Budget

In Katsina State, stakeholders have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to prioritize structural economic reforms in the 2025 appropriation to address the country’s pressing challenges.

While acknowledging the administration’s efforts so far, they emphasized the need for a balanced approach to ensure short-term relief and long-term economic stability.

President Tinubu’s administration has been described as “a work in progress,” with policies that are gradually unfolding to tackle deep-rooted economic issues.

The chairman Continental Computer, Salisu Mamman noted that while some reforms may take time to deliver tangible results, patience and commitment to their implementation are key, acknowledging the economic hardship currently faced by many Nigerians, attributing it to the transitional nature of the reforms.

“Economic policies, particularly structural reforms, often take time to yield results. Governance is not a sprint but a marathon. While some policies may deliver immediate benefits, others are long-term investments that might crystallize after the administration’s tenure,” he noted.

He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and engage constructively with the government to ensure these reforms are fine-tuned for the benefit of the majority.

Similarly, the chairman of Civil Society Groups, Abduraham Abdulahi, charged the leadership at both federal and state levels, towards driving reform and managing the transitional challenges.

He lauded Governor Radda’s strides in Katsina State and cited it as an example of focused governance that prioritizes strategic planning and impactful policies.
