Ex-Bauchi lawmaker dumps APC, returns to PDP

Former Sole Administrator of Giade Local Government Area and ex-member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Adamu Bello, has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party after leaving the All Progressives Congress.

Bello, a founding member of the APC in Bauchi State and a key political figure in Bauchi North Senatorial District, announced his decision on Tuesday.

He attributed his defection to the continued support of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, for his community, according to NaijaNews.

Bello had played a crucial role in securing APC’s victory in Giade Local Government Area during the last general elections, making his departure from the party a significant setback for the APC in the state.

In a statement, Bello explained that his constituents, who have always been central to his political journey, had urged him to join the PDP to better advance the interests of their community.

He expressed appreciation for Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to the development of Giade and Bauchi State, describing his leadership as a beacon of hope for the region.

Bello further stated that the APC had failed to recognize his efforts and the needs of the people, leading him to make the shift to the PDP, where he believes a better future for his constituents can be secured.

He said, “I have always been a voice for my people, and they have asked me to take this step so that we can continue to progress.

“Governor Bala Mohammed has demonstrated a deep commitment to the development of our region, and his leadership has been a beacon of hope for the people of Giade and Bauchi State at large.

“The APC, on the other hand, has failed to recognize the value of my efforts and the needs of our people, prompting this shift to PDP where our collective future can be better secured.”
