The All Progressives Congres (APC) in Adamawa has announced the indefinite suspension of its executives in the Gwadabawa ward in Yola-North LGA of the state.
Raymond Chidama, the state’s secretary of APC, who announced the suspension at a press conference in Yola, on Saturday, said the decision was due to the “unconstitutional suspension” of Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF).
NAN reports that Chidama said the state working committee (SWC) led by Samaila Tadawus, received the resolution of Yola-North executive committee about the suspension of the SGF from the party.
He said a caretaker committee has been put in place to take care of the party’s affairs in the LGA.
“The SWC, therefore, approved the removal from office of all exco members of Gwadabawa ward with immediate effect,” Chidama said.
“The indefinite suspension of all exco members of Gwadabawa ward from the party and constitution of the seven-man committee as recommended has been approved.”
The secretary directed all suspended members to hand over all party properties in their possession to the chairman of Yola-North immediately.
On Thursday, it was reported that the Gwadabawa ward executives had suspended Mustapha for failing to win the election in his ward.
However, the state’s leadership of the party voided the suspension, describing it as “unconstitutional”.
