Governor Adeleke praised for prioritizing infrastructure development in Osun State
Eighty percent of the one point five kilometres of roads being constructed in each local government across the state has been completed
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello disclosed this on Imole Ayo, a programme, which promotes the activities of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration on the Radio and Television channels of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation
The weekly simulcast programme is put in place by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to showcase the outstanding achievements of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of works and Infrastructure released the figures of roads constructed through the Director of Highways in the ministry, Engr Moruf Ojebode.
According to him,the remaining twenty percent of the ongoing local government road projects will be completed before the end of this month
He commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for giving priority to infrastructural development through constructions of new roads and rehabilitation of existing ones which are in deplorable conditions
Engineer Ojebode pointed out that a total of over one hundred and seventy kilometres of roads had been completed while over one hundred and twenty kilometres are ongoing
He further disclosed that one hundred kilometres of roads will be flagged off in due course adding that the new road projects cut across all the federal constituencies in the state.
The permanent secretary explained that the proposed one hundred road projects are being captured in the one hundred and fifty nine billion naira infra plan recently unveiled by Governor Ademola Adeleke
The State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure called on those yet to benefit from the infrastructural development of the present administration in the state to exercise patience as no area will be left out
He urged the people to desist from all acts that can shorten the life span of the roads such as dumping sand, refuse, oil or diesel on the roads with warnings that anyone caught will be apprehended and prosecuted by law enforcement agencies.
