Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Rauf Adekunle Adeniji (popularly known as Congo), the National Director of Administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a condolence message, Governor Adeleke extended his heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased, the Ooni of Ife, and the people of Ile-Ife, describing the late Dr. Adeniji as an illustrious son of the ancient town and a respected figure in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“The news of Dr. Adeniji’s death came as a shock. I had hoped that the reports of his return signaled recovery. His passing is not just a personal loss to his loved ones but a significant blow to the entire state and the nation,” Governor Adeleke said.
The governor also condoled with the Osun APC and the party nationwide, acknowledging the pain of losing a committed political leader.
“It is a devastating moment. Dr. Adeniji was one of the promising lights of Ife and Osun. His sudden exit is difficult to bear, and I join all who are grieving to mourn this painful loss,” he stated.
Governor Adeleke prayed for the peaceful repose of Dr. Adeniji’s soul and urged those affected by his passing to find strength in the impact he made during his lifetime.
