Jigawa govt disburses N813m to Majia tanker explosion victims

Governor Umar Danmodi of Jigawa State has administered the disbursement of N813 million to over 210 victims of the October 2024 Majiya tanker explosion in Jigawa State.

Speaking while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries, Danmodi charged the Disbursement Committee members to have the fear of God, uphold probity and accountability, warning that their task was to ensure justice, fairness, transparency, and equity in making sure that only the victims were served accordingly.

He also charged the Committee members to ensure that only the families of the affected victims—both the 201 deceased and the 70 survivors who sustained varying degrees of injuries—were attended to.
