
KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, under the leadership of its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Olatunbosun, SAN, officially commissioned its newly completed Senate Building on Thursday, February 6, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to academic excellence, governance, and infrastructural development.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by dignitaries, members of the university community, and invited guests, celebrating visionary leadership, dedication to education, and institutional growth.
In his address, Professor Olatunbosun described the Senate Building as more than just an administrative structure but a symbol of scholarship, governance, and intellectual advancement.
“This edifice is a hub for intellectual discourse, a beacon of academic excellence, and a testament to our relentless pursuit of knowledge,” he stated. He expressed profound gratitude to the Founder and Chancellor, Chief Kola Daisi, CON, for his unwavering support and generosity, commending the successful completion of the project within 14 months.”
He also paid tribute to notable figures who played significant roles in the university’s journey, including the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Otunba Subomi Balogun, and Professor Oladipo Akinkugbe.
Speaking at the event, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Remi Babalola, FCA, emphasized the importance of the Senate Building in shaping the university’s academic policies and governance.
“This building stands as a pillar of authority and tradition, reflecting the university’s dedication to academic excellence and groundbreaking research,” he said. He praised the leadership of KolaDaisi University and acknowledged the Kola Daisi Foundation for making the project a reality, describing the Founder as the “Father of the University.”
The event reached its peak with remarks from Chief Kola Daisi, CON, the Founder and Chancellor, who expressed gratitude to God for granting him the strength to establish the university as a legacy for future generations.
“This university is my way of giving back to society, and today, we witness yet another milestone. The Senate Building stands as a symbol of a resilient and thriving academic institution,” he remarked.
Reaffirming his commitment to the university’s continued growth, Chief Daisi urged the management and stakeholders to uphold the institution’s vision and mission.
With the unveiling of the Senate Building, KolaDaisi University has taken another bold step toward reinforcing its academic and administrative excellence, solidifying its reputation as a leading center of higher learning.
