A tragic apartment fire in the northern town of Beit She’an claimed the lives of a man in his 30s and his toddler daughter early this morning, rescue services have reported.

Firefighters and medics rushed to the scene, where the two victims were found suffering from severe smoke inhalation. Despite efforts to resuscitate them, medics ultimately pronounced them dead.

Five other individuals sustained minor injuries, also due to smoke inhalation, and were treated at the scene by Magen David Adom emergency responders.

The cause of the fire is not known at the time of filing this report.
