DSS Should Be Disbanded for Inability to Track Terrorism Sponsors, Says Retired General

Retired General Ishola Williams has called for the disbandment of Nigeria’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Services (DSS) due to their alleged failure to track and apprehend sponsors of terrorism. He criticized the agencies for not effectively identifying and neutralizing individuals funding terrorist activities, thereby compromising national security.

General Williams emphasized the need for a comprehensive and coordinated approach to combat terrorism, highlighting the importance of intelligence agencies in identifying and dismantling terrorist networks.

He expressed concern over the increasing boldness of terrorist groups and the apparent lack of effective response from the security agencies.

This statement underscores the ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and the critical role of intelligence agencies in ensuring national security.
