The Owa Obokun-elect, Looja Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, has pledged to intensify efforts in working with traditional rulers, chiefs, and elites to strengthen the bond among the Ijesas for sustainable unity in the land.
DAILY POST previously reported that Adesuyi Haastrup of the Bilaro Oluodo Ruling House was elected as the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland on Friday, taking the regnal name Owa Ajimoko III.
Additionally, the Osun State Government, following its last Executive Council meeting on Friday, approved the appointment of Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup as the Owa Obokun-elect.
The Owa Obokun-elect shared his vision in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Bilaro Oluodo Ruling House, Isaac Haastrup, after a visit by the Ijesaland Development Assembly on Friday.
Prince Haastrup expressed satisfaction with the numerous social and infrastructure development projects undertaken by the amalgamation of Ijesa clubs and organizations.
He promised to collaborate with these groups to further elevate Ijesaland.
According to him, “In addition to cementing Ijesaland’s existing unity, the focus would be on agribusiness, with the goal of making the land a food basket for the state and the South West area in general.”
He disclosed plans to develop a mechanized farm in Ilesa for the cultivation of rice and other food crops.
