Many feared dead, others injured as fighter jet mistakenly bombs two Sokoto communities



A fighter jet mistakenly bombed two communities in Silame Local Government Area of Sokoto State in the early hours of Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.

The tragic incident left many villagers d3ad and several others injured, DailyTrust reports.

The fighter jet was targeting Lakurawa t3rrorist group when it mistakingly bombed Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa communities.

A resident of Silame, who gave his name as Malam Yahya, noted that the two villages were located close to Surame Forest identified as another hideout of Lakurawa and bandits.

Another source told Daily Trust that over 10 villagers were killed and several others sustained varying degrees of injury during the airstrike.
