Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo state, has dissolved the boards of agencies and parastatals in the state.
A statement on Wednesday by Fred Itua, chief press secretary to the governor, said political appointees and permanent secretaries from outside the state’s public service have equally been relieved of their appointments.
“It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the dissolution of Executives of all Boards, Agencies and Parastatals in Edo State Public Service with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
“In addition, all Permanent Secretaries appointed from outside the State Public/Civil Service and all Political Appointees are hereby relieved of their appointments.
“Okpebholo asked affected appointees to transfer all government properties to the highest-ranking officer in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies immediately.”
The governor also ordered the immediate and indefinite suspension of revenue collection in the state.
He equally directed Umoru Ozigi, Edo state commissioner of police, to arrest individuals who flout the order.
