NASC appoints Ogunlana as N’Assembly clerk

The National Assembly Service Commission has appointed Kamoru Ogunlana as the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly, following the approved retirement of Mr. Sani Magaji Tambuwal, the outgoing Clerk.

According to a statement released by NASC Deputy Director Emmanuel Anyigor on Wednesday evening, the appointment, effective from 2nd February 2025, was confirmed in a letter signed by the Commission’s Executive Chairman, Engr. Ahmed Amshi.

The letter noted that the decision was made during the Commission’s 610th meeting held on 6th November 2024.

It acknowledged Ogunlana’s dedication and administrative skills, urging him to work diligently to justify the trust placed in him.

The letter read in part, “The National Assembly Service Commission, at its 610th meeting held on Wednesday, 6th November 2024, approved your appointment as Clerk to the National Assembly, effective from 2nd February 2025.”

In a separate letter also signed by the NASC Chairman, the Commission acknowledged the significant contributions of the outgoing Clerk, Tambuwal, to the National Assembly Service.

Part of the letter to the retiring Clerk read, “As you proceed on your pre-retirement leave, Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana will oversee the affairs of the office of the Clerk to the National Assembly while working closely with you to ensure a smooth transition until he takes over as the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly on 02/02/2025.”

Before this promotion, Ogunlana served as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly.
