Yobe captures mass weddings in 2025 budget

Governor Mai Mala Buni has said that the Yobe State Government will organize mass weddings and step up youth and women empowerment for poverty alleviation and uplifting the living standard of the people of the state.

The Governor stated this via his Senior Special Assistant for Digital and Strategic Communucations, Yusuf Ali, which indicated that the social sector receives N108.469 billion, prioritizing: education, healthcare, and providing modern equipment for women and youth empowerment.

“Funds would also be made available for the procurement of empowerment materials to support our Women in Agriculture, Women in Development, Mass Wedding and Youth empowerment programmes”, he said.

According to the Governor, the government would make funds available for the construction of Women Development Centers in Nguru, Damagum and Buni Yadi with a view to accelerating integration of all segments of the populace and improving the welfare of women, youth and the underprivileged.

“A new Remand Home and Transit Camp would be constructed in Damaturu while the Gashua Remand Home would be renovated.

“The blind workshops in Damaturu and Potiskum would be rehabilitated and equipped with modern teaching and learning materials, and sporting facilities”, he said.
