At least 11 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian health officials.
The operation, which targeted multiple Palestinian cities, has been described as one of the most extensive since the second intifada, a Palestinian uprising that took place from 2000 to 2005.
Among the dead, five were reportedly killed in an airstrike on al-Far’a refugee camp, while six others were killed in a drone strike and armed clashes in the Jenin area.
The Israeli military, which has provided limited details, stated that the actions were part of a “counterterrorism operation” aimed at dismantling what they described as “Iranian-Islamic terror infrastructures” in Jenin and Tulkarm.
The operation appears to be targeting four cities simultaneously—Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Tubas—marking a rare and intensive military campaign in the West Bank.
Palestinian reports indicate that the main roads into Jenin have been blocked, with armed clashes erupting in the city’s refugee camp. An Israeli airstrike reportedly hit a vehicle in a nearby village at dawn, further escalating tensions.
In Jenin, Israeli forces are said to have entered a hospital, while in Tulkarm, two hospitals have reportedly been blocked off. The raids in Nablus are focused on two refugee camps, according to Palestinian sources. In the Far’a camp near Tubas, medics are struggling to reach the wounded due to a recent Israeli drone strike, further complicating the humanitarian situation.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the intensity of the operation, stating that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been “operating with full force since last night” in the refugee camps of Jenin and Tulkarm.
The IDF, along with the internal security agency Shin Bet and Israel Border Police, continues to conduct what they describe as a counterterrorism operation aimed at thwarting terror activities in the region.
The operation has drawn sharp reactions from Palestinian officials and has raised concerns about a potential escalation of violence in the already volatile region.
