How first class Bauchi emir of Ningi died in Kano

More information has reached Arewa PUNCH disclosing that the departed Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya, passed on at the Expert Alliance Hospital in Kano.

Our correspondent reports that the highly respected emir was admitted to the hospital two days after returning from a medical trip in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, the Secretary of the Ningi Emirate Council, Alhaji Usman Sule, had through a statement informed the public that the funeral rites of the late emir were conducted on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Ningi Emirate Palace, according to Islamic rites.

It was further reveals that the late emir was born in 1936 and had an illustrious working career before ascending the throne in 1978.

The late Emir Danyaya spent 46 years on the throne and only died at the age of 88.

As the emir of Ningi, he was among the six first-class emirs in Bauchi State.

Others are the emirs of Bauchi, Katagum, Misau, Jama’are, and Dass emirates.

In the same vein, the Bauchi State Government officially announced the death of the Emir.

In a press release issued on Sunday by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Bauchi State Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, he confirmed that the Emir died in the early hours of Sunday.

Gidado, while expressing concern over his passing, stated that “His death has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of the people of Ningi emirate, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.

“Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya was a man of peace, wisdom, and immense dedication to the welfare of his people.

“Throughout his reign, he exemplified the highest values of leadership, fostering unity, progress, and development across Ningi emirate. His legacy as a guardian of tradition, culture, and Islamic values will continue to inspire future generations.”

He extended the state government’s condolences to the immediate family of the late emir, the Ningi Emirate Council, and the entire people of Bauchi.
