SUBEB chair, others promise massive votes for Aiyedatiwa

The Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Victor Olabimtan, has declared that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa would win the November 16 governorship election in the state.

Aiyedatiwa became the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state, following his victory at the April 20 governorship primary of the party.

Olabimtan, a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, said the chieftains of the party across the state were ready to work and gather massive votes for the governor in the forthcoming poll.

He stated this at a party meeting with some chieftains of the party at Oka Akoko, the headquarters of the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

Some of the leaders at the meeting included a former member of the state Assembly, Mr Gbenga Omole, Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Affairs, Boye Ologbese, a former member of the House of Representatives, Mr Ade Adeogun, among others.

Olabimtan charged party members to ensure Aiyedatiwa and his running mate, Dr Olayide Adelami, recorded a massive victory in the area.

“We are meeting here to speak with ourselves on how to deliver massive votes for our governor and candidate of the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.

“We are all determined to work vigorously for the victory of our party and the candidate in the election.

“You can see that Aiyedatiwa is the most popular among the candidates for the election but we won’t take that for granted, we would also work to achieve victory and ensure Aiyedatiwa is sworn in as the next governor of the state,” he said.

A former lawmaker and Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Gbenga Omole, expressed his readiness to work for the victory of Aiyedatiwa in the forthcoming poll.

He also commended the party chieftains for turning out in large numbers for the meeting.

“I want to urge our members to sustain their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa to record massive votes in this local government and the state in general by November 16, 2024.

“You can see many of them here, which shows the love and support they have for the governor. We will gather an unprecedented number of votes for Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 governorship poll,” he said.

A lawmaker representing Akoko South-West/South-East Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023, Mr Ade Adeogun, said the local government had a solid structure to deliver Aiyedatiwa’s success in the forthcoming election.
