Oyo Rep to hand over digital ICT hub to govt, Thursday

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital and Information Communication Technology, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, is set to hand over a fully equipped Digital ICT fibre optic hub to the Oyo State Government on Thursday.

The hub, located within the premises of Oke-Bola Comprehensive High School on NTC Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, is a key constituency project facilitated by Hon. Olajide, who represents the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West federal constituency of Oyo State. Designed to enhance the knowledge of secondary school students in ICT and digital technology, the project reflects the lawmaker’s commitment to empowering the next generation with vital digital skills.

In collaboration with the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Hon. Olajide has delivered this state-of-the-art facility, which is equipped with modern computers, servers, and fibre optic connectivity. The hub will provide students with access to high-speed internet and cutting-edge technology, serving as a crucial training ground to prepare them for the global digital economy.

The ICT hub will offer students opportunities to learn computer programming, software development, digital entrepreneurship, and other essential skills. It will be managed by a team of experienced ICT professionals who will provide ongoing training and support to ensure that students maximize the benefits of this facility.

Expressing his satisfaction with the completion of the project, Hon. Olajide stated, “I am thrilled to see this project come to fruition. As a representative of the people, it is my duty to ensure that our youth are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in life. This ICT hub is a major step toward fulfilling that commitment.”

Hon. Olajide also revealed plans to establish more such hubs in other parts of the state over time, further expanding access to digital education and opportunities for Oyo State students.
