Protests: Keffi imposes 12-hour curfew

In a bid to address escalating unrest linked to ongoing hunger protests, the Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State has announced a 12-hour curfew, effective from August 1, 2024.

The curfew, set to run from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, was formally declared by the Keffi Local Government Chairman, Muhammad Baba Shehu.

The decision aims to curb the growing disorder and prevent looting activities perpetrated by unidentified persons.

The curfew imposition followed extensive consultations with security agencies, including the Army and other security operatives, who are fully backing the measure to stabilize the area.
