A man identified as Nuhu Ezra has been arrested with a human skull and bones in a community in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
It was learnt that the suspect was arrested at about 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
This is contained in a statement signed by Josephine Adeh, FCT Command Police Public Relations Officer, which said the police acted on credible intelligence in trailing and arresting the suspect.
She disclosed that the suspect said he found the human skull and bones in the bush while hunting in the Kuje area of the territory, and confessed that he had the intention to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).
The statement reads in part, “The operatives of the FCT police command attached to Iddo police division on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m., acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested one Nuhu Ezra ‘m’ of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, Abuja, with a human skull and bones.
“The suspect, who was found with the body parts upon interrogation, stated that he picked them up from the bush while hunting at Kuje and had the intention to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).”
“While the commissioner of police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has ordered that a thorough investigation be conducted to ascertain the bearer of the body parts, the intended buyer, if the suspect killed anyone to be in possession of the body parts, and how long the suspect has been in the alleged business, he urges residents to be wary of their environment and report suspicious activities through the police emergency lines: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653 PCB: 09022222352, CRU: 08107314192,” the statement added.
