A Tragic Incident in Nnobi: 22-Year-Old Newlywed Bride Loses Life in Gun AttackA devastating incident occurred in Nnobi, Anambra State, on Monday when a 22-year-old newlywed bride was killed in a gun attack by unknown assailants.

The bride, who had only been married a week ago, was waiting for her husband, who is based overseas, to return home before she met her untimely demise.

According to a family source, the victim was the only child of her parents and was on her way back from the farm when she was hit by stray bullets during a shootout between security officials and the attackers.

The source described the incident as a “heavy blow” to the family.

The attackers, suspected to be enforcers of a sit-at-home order, invaded Nnobi community in a black Landcruiser jeep and opened fire on vigilante operatives, leaving two of them seriously injured.

The police and vigilante service have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.

The Anambra State police command has ordered an immediate manhunt operation on the armed men and vowed to get justice for the victims.

The police commissioner has also condoled with the families of the deceased and called on members of the public to assist with information on the ongoing operation.

The Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Vigilante Service has also vowed to work round the clock with other security forces to apprehend all involved in the killing of its commander and make them pay for their actions.The tragic incident has left one other person dead and several others injured.

The real casualty figure has not been ascertained, but sources in both communities confirmed that over six persons died in the attacks.
