Police launch manhunt on fleeing father over alleged daughter’s murder in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt for Stanley Ovemureye, a father who allegedly murdered his six-year-old daughter, Abigail, at Agbarho Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

According to police reports, Ovemureye, who is currently at large, brutally attacked his daughter by smashing her head against the wall multiple times, leading to her death.

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday and was reported to the Agbarho police division by the suspect’s brother.

Police operatives were dispatched to the scene, where they recovered the body of the child and deposited it at the mortuary.

The Divisional Police Officer has assured that a thorough investigation is underway to bring the suspect to justice.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered a relentless manhunt for Ovemureye, promising that he will be apprehended and brought to account for his heinous crime.

The CP has also appealed to the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
