Imo State Police arrest 27-year-old woman for murdering her partner

The Imo State Police Command has arrested 27-year-old Oluchi Nzemechi, from Uzoagba in Ikeduru Local Government Area, for allegedly stabbing her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death.According to police reports, Oluchi confessed to the crime during interrogation.

She revealed that she had been involved in internet fraud with her partner, who was 31 years old, and that they had obtained a large sum of money, allegedly 250 million Rupiah, from a victim in Indonesia.

However, the couple had a heated argument on Sunday when Kelechi failed to give Oluchi a share of the stolen money.

During the altercation, Oluchi used a kitchen knife to stab Kelechi in the upper part of his body. In an attempt to cover up her crime, she wrote a note on a piece of paper and placed it on his lifeless body before fleeing the scene.

The note read: “You think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and your child including your family.

“Oluchi has been living with Kelechi since 2019 and has a child with him. She was paraded by the police and will be arraigned in court once the investigation is concluded.

ASP Henry Okoye, the Public Relations Officer of the command, stated that efforts are being made to recover the alleged 250 million Indonesia Rupiah for possible return to the owner.

Oluchi is currently undergoing an investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will be arraigned in court.
