The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended the nationwide strike, paving the way for uninterrupted meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.
The decision was confirmed by TUC Chairman, Festus Osifo, on Tuesday.
The suspension comes after labour leaders met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and other government officials on Monday.
According to reports, the meeting resulted in a resolution that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.
