Bauchi State Commissioner Ahmed Jalam Dies in Auto Crash

Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmed Jalam, has passed away in an auto crash along the Misau-Darazo Road on Saturday.

His driver also perished in the accident.

They were traveling to Jalam’s hometown in Dambam Local Government Area when the tragic incident occurred.

Governor Bala Mohammed expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, “The commissioner’s death leaves a profound emptiness and casts a pall of mourning over the state as he was known for his dedication and commitment to service.”

Ahmed Jalam, who previously served as Commissioner for Religious Affairs in 2019 and was reappointed in 2023, was 60 years old.

He is survived by his wives and children.

His funeral prayer will be held on Sunday morning in his hometown, Jalam, in accordance with Islamic rites.
