His Excellency, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has commissioned the newly completed 15km Garaku-Gurku-Dari Road in the Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
The road, constructed at a cost of N3,670,311,759.22, was awarded to Tongy Group Limited in November 2022 as part of the administration’s commitment to providing road infrastructure for the development of the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Sule emphasized the significance of rural roads in connecting communities and facilitating economic growth.
He noted that the road will improve the transportation of agricultural produce and other economic commodities from remote markets to urban areas, which was previously hindered by poor road networks.
The governor reiterated his administration’s determination to deliver more rural roads, citing the construction of additional roads such as the Angoro-Arusu-Amba-Bassa Road, Ashige-Gidan Buba-Ugah-Fadaman Bauna, Jangwa-Ribi-Agwatashi, and Azara-Ampana-Awe, among others.
Honorable Ogah Ogazi, representing Kokona East Constituency, expressed gratitude to Governor Sule for addressing the long-standing challenges faced by the people of the area, saying, “We are grateful to you, Your Excellency, for alleviating our suffering.”
The commissioning of the Garaku-Gurku-Dari Road marks a significant milestone in the state’s infrastructure development, aimed at enhancing economic activities and the well-being of the people.
