Fire Engulfs NNPCL Tank Farm in Apapa, Lagos

On Friday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Tank Farm on Kayode Street, Marine Beach, in Apapa, Lagos, was engulfed in flames.

Eyewitness Tunde Are reported that the fire began around 11:00 am, causing widespread panic as people tried to contain the blaze before the arrival of rescue teams.

The rescue efforts, led by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), were ongoing at the time of this report.

The fire was reportedly caused by a spillage of petroleum products within the terminal’s perimeter.

Confirming the incident, the Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, said that various emergency responders within the oil and gas industry were working together to manage the situation.
