A Majestic Celebration Marks the 20th Coronation Anniversary of the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye

On Wednesday, May 8, 2023, the WOSAM Arena in Ogun State gleamed with grandeur as the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Oba Razaq-Adenugbe, concluded the festivities commemorating his 20th coronation anniversary.

Arriving in regal splendor, the celebrator was accompanied by a distinguished entourage of friends and royal dignitaries. Draped in a resplendent purple attire, the monarch radiated grace and elegance, his wife by his side throughout most of the celebration.

The ceremony was adorned with a magnificent cake, meticulously crafted to resemble the king’s throne and crown, a fitting tribute to his illustrious reign.

Amidst the jubilation, esteemed personalities extended heartfelt congratulations to the monarch, acknowledging his remarkable achievement and commendable tenure on the throne. Addressing the gathering, the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, expressed profound joy and gratitude for the enduring legacy of the revered Kabiyesi. He lauded the monarch’s unwavering commitment, diligence, and dedication over two decades of exemplary leadership.

Enhancing the celebratory atmosphere, renowned musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, enthralled attendees with his melodious tunes and vibrant rhythms. Additionally, the talented saxophonist, Abolaji Banjoko aka Beejay Sax, mesmerized guests with his soul-stirring melodies, adding to the enchanting ambiance.

Leading up to the grand celebration, a series of diverse activities honored the Ebumawe’s 20th coronation anniversary. The week-long event featured an interdenominational service, engaging quiz and sports competitions for secondary school students, a thought-provoking public lecture, a lively anniversary party, and a heartwarming presentation of gifts to selected public schools.

The distinguished presence of notable royalties lent an air of grandeur to the festivities, including the Olota of Ota; Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, the traditional ruler of Ikate-Elegushi kingdom in Lagos State; Oba Saheed Ademola, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Oyo State; Oba Francis Alao Akinbola, and several other esteemed monarchs.
